Jean Philomena Quinn, 84, of Fort Myers, passed Tuesday April 15, 2008. She was born October 31, 1923 in Chicago, IL and moved to Fort Myers from Wooddale, IL in 1982. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection of our Lord and the Beloved Protective Order of the Elks of Fort Myers.Mrs. Quinn is survived by her husband of 28 years, Frederick V. Quinn, Jr.; five children: Beverly Nelson of Naperville, IL, Cindy Swift and husband, Malcolm ("Woody") of Lake in the Hills, IL, Ed Herndon and wife, Karen of Trumbull, CT, Thomas Quinn and wife, Kellie of Williams Bay, WI and Beth Schneider and husband, Brent of Pearl City, IL; her sister, Alfreda Kreft of Bensenville, IL; grandchildren: Denny, Michelle, Jennifer, P.J., Matthew, Melissa, Mallory, Katie, Eddie, Jr., Sean, Ryan, Brad, Kayla, Karly, Quinn, Tammy, Tom, Tiffany and Mark; great-grandchildren: Amanda, Denny, Hannah, Brandon, Brianna, Timothy, Tiara, Danielle, Tommy, Ariel, Nola and Ryah. She was preceded in death by two children: Linda Mathis and Anita Nelson.

I was so lucky to have Ms. Quinn, and Mr. Quinn in my life at such a young age. Simply put, the picture of kindness, love, stability, and true spirituality, that at the time I really didn't know what I was seeing. I thank god for their presence in my life. But, that's not where it ends, my daughter, who is now 21, speaks of Ms. Quinn, as a most incredible person, with such kindness, wisdom and just plain love-how true. Two generations of Lopez children having been blessed by simply knowing her-thank you god. My gratitude to god forever-Kat (Lopez) Swartz, and her daughter Tiffany, who worshipped Mrs. Quinn.
