Our condolences to the family. We know the Ohio families and met Dave briefly when he was living here in Warren. We've attended his church several times during the winter months. It sounds like he enjoyed a full life, so today we celebrate his passing into the eternal throng above. August 10,2011

We met Dave when he brought son Tim to train with us at the National Guard Armory in, I think mid 1979. Dave was as fine a gentleman and father as I think I have ever known and supported Tim in his boxing all the way. He was a great addition to the Suncoast Boxing Club. May God be with his wife Helen and all their children. Rest in peace, Brother! August 10,2011

My condolences to Mrs. Capel, David, Debbie and Tim. I hadn't seen your Dad or most of you since the mid 80's, at least, but I have find childhood memories of him from the time I spent with your lovely, loving family while a member of St. Michael's Lutheran. He was a model father and stand-up guy with energy and positive attitude to spare. Guys like that are a rare thing and the world is a lesser place without him. August 10,2011

Mr. Capel was our neighbor in Cape Coral who we saw every day walking and when we would see him in the neighborhood he would always have something positive or nice to say to us. We really thought he was too good to be true. How can somebody always be that positive. We would talk to him and never heard him "brag" about his accomplishments. We now know what a truly great person he was. If the world had more Dave Capel's we would be so much better off. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cyndi, who I worked with at Cypress Lake High, and all of the Capel family. August 10,2011

To the family: It was 39 yrs when you moved to Ft Myers. I should know... I helped drive the U Haul truck when I was 18 from Howland. I still remember that trip. One day we all will be with Mr Capel. Until then, he will be with us. Sincerely in Jesus Ray Kazmierski Lakeland, FL August 13,2011
